Market Entry and Research

Entering any frontier or emerging market can be a daunting task under any circumstances and Vietnam is no different. Our team’s extensive experience can assist a company or individual interested in entering Vietnam. Buy-side and Sell-side Advisory

Our buy-side advisory includes a full range of advisory services enabling clients to target and execute acquisitions while maintaining their focus on their core business. We work closely with our clients to determine their specific needs, investment criteria and constraints and provide complete start to finish support including: target identification, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring and execution.Our sell-side advisory includes a full range of services to our clients to achieve the maximum value for their business whether attracting growth/seed capital or exiting the business. Our sell-side advisory includes a full range of services to our clients to achieve the maximum value for their business whether attracting growth/seed capital or exiting the business. Trade Facilitation

OIA can provide our clients with advisory services on both importing and exporting goods. For importers (out of Vietnam) we offer sourcing services while for exporters (into Vietnam) we organize sales, distribution and related services. Trading with Vietnam can be subject to a multitude of bureaucratic processes which can cause a strain on resources and significant delays in getting products to market. OIA can assist in streamlining the processes and ensuring that all import/export activities can be carried out in a timely manner.

Due Diligence

After selecting a target for acquisition, the due diligence process will determine if the target will be a suitable match for the company or if the risks outweigh the benefits. The team at OIA has performed due diligence on many companies in Vietnam and has developed their skills to delve deep into a company’s operations to uncover risks which are not easily detected. Depending on the client’s needs, OIA can perform due diligence on all aspects of a company including: financial, commercial, operational and legal due diligence.

Feasibility Studies/ Business Plans

Perhaps the most important step in starting a new venture is to carry out an effective feasibility study to gauge whether a project can be successful prior to the allocation of resources. A feasibility study allows a company to assess the competitive environment, viability of a project and expected returns. Once a feasibility study has shown a business prospect to be viable, typically a detailed business plan is drafted to create a roadmap for a new venture to follow. OIA has had extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, analyzing and critiquing business plans can work closely with our clients to develop comprehensive business plans covering: market/industry research, competitive landscape, operations overview, financial modeling, legal/financial/operational risk management and capital structure planning

Investment Monitoring

Once a decision has been undertaken to make an investment, it is essential for that investment to be monitored so that any red flags can be addressed immediately. OIA has experience in monitoring private equity investments on behalf of its clients and actively follows up by participating in strategic meetings, sitting on the Board of Directors, participating in operational committees and developing tools to assist companies to improve governance. We can work with our clients to develop a tailored monitoring plan and structured reporting so that they the can receive the information they need in a concise and pointed format.

Listed Market Investments

OIA offers our clients a full range of services relating to listed investments into Vietnam from account set up, specialized and tailored research, investment monitoring, portfolio rebalancing and repatriation of funds. The OIA team has experience in developing strategies for the listed markets, creating extensive company specific research and valuation models and identifying sectors which can be expected to outperform based on both bottom-up and top-down research.
